Governance of The Grand Lodges of the Mediterranean
The governance of the GLM follows the principles established by the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) and Anderson’s Constitutions of 1723.
The President
MWGM Walid Abou Dehn
Elected by majority vote of the General Assembly for a renewable three-year term, the President ensures the implementation of decisions, the proper functioning of the Confederation, and compliance with the GLM’s Statute, Confederative Charter, and Manifesto.

Council of Founding Lodges
Representatives of the three founding obediences of the Confederation.
General Assembly
Supreme decision-making body, composed of all member lodges. Meets in Malta at least once a year.
Executive Committee
Responsible for implementing decisions and ensuring the Confederation’s Masonic regularity.
Ethics Committee
Guaranteeing adherence to Masonic values and the GLM’s statutory principles.
International Relations Committee
Strengthens cultural and diplomatic ties with the Grand Lodges of the Americas, Asia and the Pacific.
Communication Committee
Oversees visibility, the multilingual platform and the GLM’s public presence.
The Three Founding Obediences
Grand Lodge of Jerusalem of Malta (GLJM)
Established in 1966, rooted in tradition and international presence.
Grand Lodge of Free Masons (GLML)
Founded in 2015 in France, promoting openness and tolerance.
Grand Lodge of Europe and the Mediterranean (GLEM)
Created in 2020, combining tradition and modernity with a focus on Mediterranean heritage.
